Small Animal Services

Because of the life-span of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is staffed and equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for a wide variety of your pets' health care needs.
  

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, bacterial and fungal culture, and parasite testing. We also utilize state commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.

Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists. 

Glaucoma Screening & Monitoring:  Using a Tono-Pen instrument, we are able to easily and accurately measure and monitor eye pressure. 

Surgical Services:  Our surgical suite enables performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.  These include soft tissue surgeries (elective spay & neuter; tumor removal, eye and eyelid procedures; mammary lumpectomies and mastectomies; laceration repair; abdominal exploratory; and cystotomy for treatment of bladder stones) and many orthopedic procedures (including fracture repairs and stifle/cruciate ligament injury repair).

Anesthesia:  We utilize a variety of anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. 

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions, and oral surgery.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip administration (at office visit or at surgery) for permanent identification.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, flea and tick control products, heartworm preventatives, and medicated shampoos to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets, to help with the nutritional management of a wide variety of medical conditions.

Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard, and on your pet.

Staff Holding Brown DogDietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house-soiling and aggression.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.

Exotics:  Our doctors are equipped and excited to offer care for your exotic pet.  We are happy to see rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, rats, chinchillas, reptiles, amphibians, and birds, including chickens, ducks, parrots, budgies, and more.  Our hospital is equipped with specialized dental equipment for the care of oral problems in rabbits and other small mammals.  We also offer spay and neuter surgeries for rabbits.  We have a full range of medication, prescription, and referral services for your exotic pet.

Pot-bellied and Mini Pigs: We are happy to provide routine and sick care for pigs of all sizes.  We offer spay and neuter surgeries of Mini Pigs as well as routine vaccination services in our office.  We also offer tusk and hoof trimming.  [Note: For larger pigs, we offer on-farm care, including herd health services and sick care.]
